Zepz Group, the company behind global remittance brands WorldRemit and Sendwave, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Java to join their FinCrime team. Zepz is transforming cross-border financial services by increasing access, safety, and convenience for over 9 million users globally. The FinCrime team is responsible for screening platforms, handling transaction alerts, and automating regulatory reporting using modern technologies such as Java (Spring Boot), AWS, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, and microservices architecture. This is a remote-first role offering flexibility, inclusion, and the opportunity to be part of a globally distributed, mission-driven team.

Responsibilities

• Manage the screening platform for individuals and transactions
• Handle transaction alerts and integrate with third-party vendors
• Hold and release transactions and manage investigation tasks
• Develop screening for crypto-related transactions and wallets
• Maintain GraphQL and RESTful microservices
• Automate regulatory reporting tasks

Qualifications

• Expertise in designing and architecting complex, distributed systems at scale
• Ability to analyze and optimize system performance
• Strong proficiency in writing complex SQL queries
• Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS)
• Experience in cross-functional initiatives and strategic tech decisions
• Familiarity with monitoring dashboards and performance metrics
• Experience mentoring engineering teams on architectural principles
• Strong interpersonal skills for stakeholder communication
